A message from William:
In 2015, for my 10th birthday my parents took me to an indoor go-kart track and I soon realized how much I loved racing. A friend referred me to an outdoor track where I was introduced to the world of professional go kart racing. It didn’t take long for me to know that this is what I want to do as a career and eventually become a professional race car driver. At first, we rented the, karts to go out and drive until I could save up for a kart of my own. To transport the kart around my dad built a steel frame trailer from a kit he bought online and bought wood from Home Depot to put the kart on and tie down so we could pull it with our Toyota Prius. We practiced hard for the remainder of 2015 and managed to pull off a win the first race of 2016, in rain conditions, which I had never driven in before. In 2017, I signed as a driver under the team SpeedSense Motorsports. Working with SpeedSense and Austin Elliott, I have won 1 national championship, 2 regional championships and 10+ race wins. They’ve given me an incredible amount of support and I wouldn’t be where I am today without my team. In April 2019, I secured my first national level championship at Challenge of the Americas. Because of this, I have been given the amazing opportunity to compete in Italy. This will be the most intense race of my career thus far. Team owner, Austin Elliott, has founded this fundraiser in support of me. To do my part, I have been going door to door with flyers and talking with as many people as possible to bring them out. We have a plan to give me the best chance in winning this race but I will need all the support I can get and I can’t get there without you.
